Analysis:
The main character of the infamous “I want you for the U.S. Army” poster returns again with another enlist now propaganda. Uncle Sam, an easily recognizable character in U.S. World War II propaganda posters, is back to encourage Americans to enlist and fight for America. Similar to Uncle Sam's goals, this propaganda poster aims to convince future enlistees to join the U.S. military and to achieve this goal, the propagandist incorporates the image of Uncle Sam in the poster to increase the credibility of the poster. Since Uncle Sam is such a prominent figure in enlistment propaganda, he is an ideal "famous person" to use when creating propaganda dealing with matters relating to enlistment. To increase the impact of this poster, the propagandist included more details than the simple "I want you" slogan and included a list of choices of the branches of the U.S. military enlistees can join. If enlistees are offered a variety of choices of available branches, they would be less hesitant to make the decision whether or not to enlist since they would know beforehand what exactly they are getting themselves into. With this upgraded “I want you” poster, the propagandist attempts to encourage American men to join the fight.
